Our next topic would probably be a dull on as no one like to do it but we have to do it. How to do filing the documents you have. Which method is the correct ones? Why do my friend filed the documents this way (which is different than mine), is that the correct procedure?

Honestly, IMHO there is no right or wrong method when filing the documents. It is all depending on your preference. But before you decide on which method there are few things you need to decide.

  1. Frequency; How frequest should you do your filing? Again there is no right or wrong answer, but do remember this…. lama lama jadi mount everst. The more you delay the higher the “mountain” of documents you have to deal with. Also timeliness is another factor, if you found out an error (eg your supplier overcharged you by RM10K) & you just realized it after 3mths, it is difficult for you to have the conversation with them.
  2.  Take a look of your documents/bills/receipts & understand the quality of the paper. If it is thermal paper (like the fax paper old timers like me would know); or the paper that you normally get from petrol station or credit card machine… you have additional tasks to do; ie to make a photocopy of the said documents as information on these documents will be faded in a few months (depending on where/how you store it)
